General questions

We ship to all countries worldwide. However, there are a number of countries that impose conditions on the supply of food. If you are unsure whether it is allowed to receive certain items from abroad, we always advise you to contact the local customs office.

Our shipping costs are as low as possible. We do not earn on this. Click here for an overview of the shipping costs per country. The shipping costs are now extra competitive. Thanks to contract discount with PostNL and other parcel carriers, we can send the parcels for you with the most advantageous service for you. This can be PostNL for one country and a different carrier for another country. All packages we send may weigh a maximum of 20 kg. If you order more than 20 kg, a new package will be made. This is to prevent breakage.

We ship orders twice a week. Because we want to ship everything to you as fresh as possible, almost everything is ordered fresh for you. We use a processing time of 3-5 working days for your order.

Order information

Below you will find only tips that you can take into account when ordering from us:

Choose the product you want and choose the quantity you want. Press the basket. On the right side you will see your shopping cart with the items you have chosen, plus the shipping weight.

All prices on the site are exclusive of VAT because it depends on your location whether VAT has to be paid and how much.

We have a minimum order amount of €34.99 excl. VAT

In the shopping cart you will see the weight of your total order. The shipping costs are increased at 5 – 10 – 20 kg. Order smartly and complete the weight class, so that you make optimal use of the shipping costs.

You can order up to 20 kg per package. After this, a new package is made and the count starts again at 5 kg or 10 kg

When you have finished ordering, press: “to checkout”.

If you have an account, you can log into your account. Otherwise, you can create this by selecting “register” at the checkout.

Now you can fill in the name and address details for shipping payment. You can also choose a password so that you have an account. You can see your order in the account and change data. You can also easily place a previous order back in the shopping cart.

You can also have the order delivered to the company where you work, so that you can be sure that someone is present to receive it.

You can now choose the payment method you want to use for the payment of your order.

All additional import charges charged by customs are at the expense of the customer.

Once we have received payment, we will process your order within 2-5 working days and send it to you.

Your package will be sent with the reliable service of a European Postal Company (a.o. PostNL, DHL or Belgian Post).

After shipment you will receive your Track and Trace code by e-mail. You can use this to track your shipment on the internet.

Below you will find an overview of countries that impose conditions on the supply of foodstuffs. This overview often changes due to regulations that can change per country. If you are unsure whether it is allowed to receive certain items from abroad, we advise you always contact the local customs office . No rights can be attached to the list below because the legislation is constantly changing.

United Arab Emirates

Prohibited:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Pig products

Import license:

Shipments with a value of up to 500 dirhams are free of import duties. Shipments with a value of more than 500 dirhams, which are not in the nature of a commercial shipment and whose contents consist of goods for personal use, are also free of import duties.

Argentina

Prohibited:

  • Alcoholic beverages

Gift shipments:

All types of goods are permitted, provided that the value does not exceed US $ 10, if they are exclusively intended for the personal use of the addressee and no more than one parcel per year is sent to the same addressee. Shipments up to US $ 5 are subject to normal import duties; if the content value is higher, greatly increased import duties (300%) will be charged. The parcel must bear the indication ‘Obsequio para persona particular’ above the address.

Australia

Conditionally admitted:

  • Medicines and medical preparations
  • Medical thermometers
  • Sugar, sugar syrup, molasses, etc. only with the permission of the ‘Minister for Primary Industry’.
  • Meat or canned meat, whether or not in airtight packaging, milk, milk products and eggs only with prior authorization from the Quarantine Service in Australia.

Azerbaijan

Prohibited:

  • Honey

Conditionally admitted:

  • Medicines

Import license:

An import license must be enclosed for the following items:

  • Fruit
  • Vegetables
  • Dairy products
  • Fish products

Brazil

Prohibited:

  • Dairy products

Conditionally admitted:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Medicines

Import license:

Commercial goods imported by post are only delivered to the consignee if the consignee can present an import permit to the customs officer, which has been issued in advance by the office ‘Cateria de Comércio Exterior do Banco do Brasil’.

Bulgaria

Conditionally admitted:

  • Medicines

Canada

Due to the many import restrictions imposed by customs, it is difficult to import food. Inform more carefully what you can enter.
Philippines
Shipping is only possible in consultation and at your own risk.
Japan
Prohibited:
  • Meat and meat products
  • Flour and baking mixes
  • Rice
  • Herbs

New Zealand

Conditionally admitted:

  • Cheese
  • Forecasts for foreign football pools
  • Meat and meat products sterilized by heating and packed airtight.
  • Fish and fish products

Turkey

Since 1-4-2011, it is no longer allowed to import foodstuffs for private individuals. Shipping to Turkey is possible but at your own risk. Please contact us about this.

United States

Prohibited:

  • Alcoholic beverages
  • Medicines
  • Meat and meat products
  • Products in aerosol cans (for example: whipped cream)
iDEAL

Do you have access to Internet banking from a Dutch bank?
Then you can use iDeal. This is the payment service that your own Dutch bank offers.

CREDIT CARD

You can pay with us with the following credit cards. Visa, Mastercard and Maestro UK . Your credit card information is encrypted and only sent to Buckaroo Payment Service via a secure connection (SSL).
Realdutchfood.com will never see your personal credit card details. Nor are they “sold” to third parties.

BANK TRANSFER

If you have a bank account, you can also use bank transfer. The processing of a transfer takes on average 2 working days. After this your order will only be processed. If you have a Dutch account, we advise you to make the payment via Ideal. This payment is processed immediately.

INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER

If you want to make an international transfer, this is possible on request, so that we can guide you in this. Processing time depends on the bank and can take up to a week. After this, the order will only be processed. We only accept payments where the costs are borne by the customer

KLARNA PAY AFTERWARDS

This payment option is possible for the following countries: Austria, Finland, France, Belgium, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Spain, Portugal, Italy

With ‘Pay Later’ you pay for your order afterwards as soon as you have received it.

You fill in your name, address, place of residence, e-mail address and other details that you always have at hand and you pay when it suits you during the payment term of 30 days.

Paying afterwards with Klarna is safe and easy. The payment details of your purchase can be found on the account you receive from us.

If we do not receive payment during the payment term of 30 days, we will send an e-mail with a reminder to pay for your purchase within 7 days, at no extra cost.

If we do not receive payment during that second payment term of 7 days, we will send a reminder with reminder costs by post. As soon as the reminder expires, the account is transferred to Segoria. There are additional costs involved. Tip: download the Klarna App. In it, all your purchases are clearly listed and you can set a reminder to pay them on time.

Credit check and handling of your data by Klarna

If you choose Pay later, Klarna will assess your creditworthiness. If a credit check has been carried out, you can be informed about this by means of a letter or an e-mail. Klarna processes your personal data to comply with our obligations under this agreement and for the additional purposes that you can find in our privacy statement. The privacy statement is available here and on our website.

If you miss an item upon receipt, it is best to report this to our customer service as soon as possible, but within 48 hours. We will then settle the amount with you.

We are of course very sorry if you receive items that do not meet your expectations. We do everything we can to package the items as well as possible. If you email a photo with the complaint and to our customer service, we will settle the item with you.

You have the right to cancel your entire order without giving any reason up to 14 days after receipt of your order. You can do this by sending us an email. Keep in mind that the return costs of the transport of the package are for your account. The costs for insufficiently stamped / unstamped return shipments will be deducted from the return amount.

If a product is not available we will of course credit the value of the product or give a discount code for the value. Just what you wish. We have no stocks, so we will ship the package without the undeliverable item to avoid delay. We never post deliverable items because the shipping costs are disproportionate to the missing item.

You will receive the tracking information of all packages that are sent by e-mail. Unfortunately, it can happen that for some destinations the information is limited and not always up to date. Unfortunately we do not have more information. Normally the packages just arrive.

Your package is insured. If the package is not delivered by post with a delay of 2 weeks, we can start an investigation into the package. If it turns out that the package has been lost, the post will proceed to compensation. You can then choose from a new package or your money back. Delays are not grounds for the postal service to pay compensation.
